 | Hypnosis can be used in connection with psychological treatment – for example to increase the self-esteem of an individual. It can also be used in connection with tinnitus or pain treatment. Other professional groups than psychologists also use hypnosis – for example dentists.
Hypnosis and people with hearing loss | It is often believed that hypnosis can only take place if the person being hypnotised has their eyes closed. That is not the case. You can be hypnotised with your eyes open if you – guided by the hypnotist’s directions – focus exclusively on the hyp-notist and his or her voice. This means that hypnosis can be used on people with a hearing loss. Hypnosis is a powerful therapeutic tool and should only be used by experts with comprehensive education and training in this field.
