Behind-the-ear hearing aids (BTE)

Behind-the-ear hearing aids (BTE) are placed behind the ear and connected to the earmould by a tube.

Using behind-the-ear hearing aids

The behind-the-ear hearing aid consists of a housing that contains the electronics, and a tube that is connected with the earmould.

The earmould is custom made. To benefit fully from one’s hearing aid and avoid feedback whistling, it is important that the earmould is correctly made and has a perfect fit.

The volume of the hearing aid can be adjusted automatically and/or manually by means of a small lever or wheel.

On some models, the on-off switch is an integral part of the battery drawer.
