Widex leads the way with Integrated Hearing Science | Once again the Danish hearing aid manufacturer Widex takes front position by introducing a completely new standard in hearing aid technology – Integrated Hearing Science. The hearing aid bearing this technology is called Inteo™ and is the company’s new flagship on the high-end market.
Inteo is the first hearing aid ever to collect and integrate the hearing aid’s complex information in one central integrating core – the Dynamic Integrator™. This unique hardware unit continuously optimises the sound to the individual user ensuring a truly tailored-made listening experience.
"Today almost all hearing aids use some type of digital technology. These instruments contain large amounts of information, technology and electronics. With Inteo we have taken a major step forward, making these many elements interact in quite a new way by means of the Dynamic Integrator. The key is bringing integration and user satisfaction together in one instrument", says Tom Westermann, Vice-President, Widex Sales and Marketing.
Inteo will be released to the market in the first quarter of 2006 and will according to Widex provide an unprecedented sound quality. The new hearing aid will be presented in a full range of models – from completely-in-canal to power and élan (open fit) models.
Dynamic Integrator - The maestro of the hearing aid | With Inteo, Widex challenges traditional signal processing. While all other hearing aids on the market employ a sequential or parallel strategy to process the many signals, Inteo breaks ground with the new Dynamic Integrator - the first in the world to ensure continuous dynamic exchange of knowledge and processes. Like a maestro in the music world, the Dynamic Integrator ensures that no one process works independently, but works together with the others to create the optimum sound.
The Dynamic Integrator is the central core of the new hearing aid. It is the driving force in an integrated work process – Integrated signal processing™ – and makes sure that all information is continuously tailored according to the individual user’s needs and listening preferences.
Audibility Extender™ – Extending the range of audibility | Another unique new Inteo feature is the Audibility Extender, which extends the hearing range of users with a steeply sloping hearing loss. The feature moves high-pitched sounds that the user is usually unable to hear into the audible frequency range without any compromise to the sound’s characteristics.
Integrated Hearing Science – Focus on the user | Inteo is much more than hearing aid technology. In the development of Inteo, Widex has focused on the good dialogue between the hearing care professional and the user. The new integrated technology makes it easier to tailor Inteo to the user’s individual needs by providing the professional with more adjustment options. This is possible through a fitting platform that fully corresponds to the complexity of the hearing aid.
With the new version of the Compass fitting software, Widex has created a fitting universe that is much more faceted than ever before. This fitting universe is the foundation of Integrated Hearing Science.
