Widex.com receives prestigious Award | Widex.com wins the prestigious World Wide Web Health Award, Fall 2003. The award is given for best health-related information on the Internet.
The award is granted by the American Health Information Resource Center. As part of an international health programme, the World Wide Web Health Award recognises the best health-related websites for consumers and professionals. The aim of the programme is to provide a "seal of quality" for electronic health information.
‘We are very happy to receive this award and hopefully our comprehensive website will help provide hearing impaired people and their relatives with the information they need. ‘There is no doubt that awards like this are of great benefit to the people seeking information on the Internet as they help create more awareness about the need for quality and depth of the information communicated on the Internet, states Annemarie Jørvad, Web Editor from Widex.
Widex.com provides answers pertaining to the psychological and emotional aspects of hearing impairment. It allows people to seek the information required in a discreet way, at their own pace. “It is our hope that Widex can help improve the quality of life by communicating openly about these issues and help dispel the myths about hearing impairment’, explains Jørvad.
