Widex launches Diva lifestyle magazine about hearing loss | Widex has created an exciting new lifestyle magazine filled with heartening and inspirational stories from Senso Diva users all over the world. Diva Magazine is a glossy publication tackling hearing-related issues in a stylish and interesting new way.
Senso Diva around the world | The Senso Diva hearing aid has gone from strength to strength around the world since its launch in 2002. Now some of the many satisfied users come forward and tell their own unique Senso Diva stories. These users have regained their quality of life and openly describe how their lives have changed for the better. Widex has collected these stories in the Diva Magazine, which focuses on the human perspective.
“With the Diva Magazine we want to portray real people, who could not have enjoyed the quality of life they now have, if it hadn’t been for their hearing aids”, comments Martine Rasmussen, project manager at Widex. She continues: “We believe these stories show that there is so much to gain by taking action. Hopefully their heartening real-life experiences will help to dispel some of the myths about hearing loss and hearing aids”.
In the magazine, you can read about Police Officer James Greely from England. He tells openly about the difficult acceptance process, and how the hearing loss affected his career prospects within the police force. When he acquired hearing aids, his quality of life improved markedly, and it is a proud and happy James who tells that he now also serves in the anti-terror squad.
The Spanish journalist Roberto Martín Pujal tells frankly about the psychological scars that may result from hearing loss. It was not until he got a hearing aid that he began to take up new challenges and see life in a new and far brighter perspective.
In her story, June Bille from Denmark focuses on the aesthetic aspect of wearing hearing aids and tells how vanity often prevented her from using her analogue hearing aid.
Morten Olsen, coach of the Danish national football team, has had a hearing loss for many years. The hereditary disorder otosclerosis has been his opponent since the 1970s. In the magazine he tells how the hearing loss has affected his life both in his professional career as a football coach and in his private life.
A magazine promoting quality of life | The underlying message of the Diva Magazine is how hearing aids can provide the first step towards improved quality of life. As there are so many aspects to this, the magazine doesn’t only contain facts about hearing loss, along with its myths and prejudices, but also features travel and other current lifestyle ideas.
“We want to create a magazine that is both informative and aesthetically appealing. An important issue has been involving the reader in a vivid and contemporary way” tells Martine Rasmussen and hopes that many will embrace the magazine and do something about their hearing loss. Readers can also view the people featured in Diva Magazine online at www.widex.com during the summer and autumn.
