Art moves children to better hearing

The celebration of the 10th anniversary of the company ReOton, the Widex branch in Ukraine, has boosted the awareness about children with hearing difficulties in the media. More than 250 children showed their artistic skills by responding to the Widex childrens’ art competition for hearing impaired children entitled ‘Every child has to hear his first school bell’. ReOton received more than 1000 drawings during the 5-month competition period, and 12 winners were announced in different categories at a grand ceremony in Kiev in September, arranged by Widex Denmark and ReOton.

‘We are absolutely overwhelmed by the interest in this project, and it has been very difficult to choose the winners’, says Marketing Manager Maxime Gamaiev from ReOton. ‘It was truly amazing to discover the creativity of all the children and delightful to see that so many submitted more than one drawing’, added Mr Gamaiev. All the participants received a special art gift and the winners were rewarded with Widex Bravo hearing aids.

The drawing: The main topic of the competition was 'My friend' which inspired most of the children to picture an animal.
