Widex launches digital hearing aids in Algeria | The founding congress of the Algerian association of private ENT doctors (ANOL, l’Association Nationale des ORL Libéraux algériens) was held at the El Aurassi hotel on January 23rd, 2003. The items on the agenda were Widex digital hearing aids and the fitting of adults and children with digital hearing aids. Among the participants were the Algerian Minister of Vocational Training and President of ANOL, Dr Abad, the Minister of Information Technologies and Communication, Mr Youbi, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Harraoubia. The scientific part of the agenda was presented by, among others, Dr André Marcoux, researcher in paediatric audiology at the audiological laboratory of Widex A/S (Denmark). The congress was a complete success and marked the entry of digital technology in Algeria. It also contributed to building a bridge between hearing healthcare professionals and the hearing aid industry in Algeria - to the benefit of hearing impaired Algerians.
Hearing healthcare professional training course in Algeria | Widex is very pleased to contribute to the introduction of the digital hearing aid in Algeria and has already laid the foundations for close cooperation between its Belgian subsidiary Veranneman, the Marie Haps Institute in Belgium and the Algerian government, in order to set up a hearing healthcare professional training course in Algeria. In this way, Widex confirms its social responsibility towards hearing impaired Algerians.
